  1. Indeed like the title said it a rebirth. Not only the steem train but a rebirth of a peaple & thier beloved nation we will keep on chaging like the steem train untill we get to our final destination.

  2. @Cockroach2008 With oil running out, the USA is unique in it’s absence of main line electrification. Third World countries modernise while the US buries itself:-)

  3. @ Isochest It’s just a matter of time! This relic of the 18th century is destined to wreck, rejection, stripping, cutting and without fusion.Les maintenance crews quickly learned that diesel engines and diesel power is a much better methods of transportation économique.Ces dinosaur steam train heading for flares dredges at full steam. It’s not too early plus.Junk not all steam locomotives ever!

  4. @Cockroach2008 What use is a diesel without the fuel? What use is a diesel if you can’t afford the spares, or you can’t find a supplier? What use is a diesel if your workshops can’t maintain them and you don’t yet have the training? This may be a Government owned Company. In time, the Eritreans may choose electrification and power it from renewable energy. For now, steam is the type of traction they can most readily use.

  5. haha, brotherman i happend to come across this video again and what do i see, a comment i made 3 years ago and your reply. well, has the time come for you to post part 2?

  6. @Cockroach2008
Did you say, “every stock holder in this steam locomotive folly”?
    Thank you for the laughter.
DID YOU THINK THIS TO BE A NATION OWNED BY CORPORATE MAFIAS, MILKING THE NATION & NATIONAL PROPERITY? You got it all wrong,
As you can see it on the video, the stock holdrers of this train system are ALL those who have the BEST INTEREST in mobilizing, rehabilitating, repairing & running the train, after 50 years of war & destruction.
In the meantime, the train is STILL running.

  7. No, I think I better let every stock holder in this steam locomotive folly in your country, that their money is being poorly spent.

Diesel electric makes more sense & scrapping the steam locomotives is the only sensible thing to do for their own financial interests!

  8. Preach to your own ,,,,,,

  9. The story is NOT about train.
It’s about human endeavor, rising up against overwhelming odds & rebuilding a destiny on your own terms with out outside patronage.
1, The train & it rails was demolished in the 50 years Ethio-Eritrean war.
    2. Most of the train workers martierd, fighting to liberate their country, Eritrea.
    3. The rest of the train workers were disintegrated.
After the war the DISINTEGRATED old workers got UNITED & VOLUNTEERED to rebuild the train & the rails.
    So they did.

  10. They may do as they please.

However, when they understand the money they can save by scrapping the steam locomotive & replacing it with diesel electric locomotives, they will move quick on it.

I scrap diesel electric & steam locomotives. I am sure a serviceable diesel electric locomotive can be found to replace that old relic.

The stock holders will like the cost savings & dividends on their stock holdings!

Money talks & steam locomotives should be junked, scrapped, cut apart & melted!

  11. Unless you have a used train to sell, why would you need to bleed your out?
Let the Eritrean decide thier own destiny on their own terms, with out people of your kind poking their noses at their hard work.

  12. Well, that is too bad!

The railway is fine, but the steam locomotive needs to be cut apart & melted.

Replace it with more efficient, less costly, less polluting diesel-electric locomotive set.

You won’t be sorry! It will be money in your pocket.

    Junk the steam locomotive!

  13. Eritreanism glows & shines against all odds!
We came a long way & forced the world to recognize Eritrea!!!!
Keep telling it like it is!!!

  14. Cockroach,
You will be surprised to know,
1, This train & it rails was demolished in the 50 years Ethio-Eritrean war.
    2. Most of the train workers died fighting to liberate their country, Eritrea.
    3. The rest of the train workers were disintegrated.
After the war the DISINTEGRATED old workers got UNITED & VOLUNTEERED to rebuild the train & the rails.
This story is about human endeavor, rising up against overwhelming odds & rebuilding a destiny.
And, the train is roaring all over Eritrea.

  15. I have nothing against the people of this country. I read that this junker steam locomotive had a boiler explosion while crossing over the high stone arched bridge. I heard that a water injector was plugged & the crew was working on it while it was in motion. Also the mortar work on the stone arch was poorly maintained & the explosion of the locomotive boiler, the motion & weight of the train caused it all to fail in a spectacular wreck!

I heard it was junked & no longer in service!

  16. Cockroach,
    Good try fabricating “news”.
I ride this train every day & never did it ever stopped running since 1995.
Too bad, you can NOT stop Eritreans from determining their own destiny.
One wonders, what do you have against Eritrea & hardworking Eritrean rebuilding their homeland?
Let me guess, “Utter jealousy”, just like wicked & demented grandfathers?

  17. Perhaps it does!

Junk the remaining steam locomotives, scrap them, cut them apart & send them to foundry for melting to make materials for ew products less polluting products!

    Junk the remaining steam locomoitves!

  18. I think your name says it all. . . .

  19. This steam locomotive featured in the opening moments of this film, suffered a boiler explosion & fell off the high stone arched bridge in this film. The results were catastrophic, many died & the decision was made to junk the remaining steam locomotives & replace them with diesel electric locomotives.

It looks like there has been another death for the era of steam locomotives!

  20. A ride on the clouds. Magnificent, They should show more of these types on BBC instead of all the bullshyt thats on.

  21. God/Allah bless Eritreans,
It’s gratifying to see grandfathers working hard, side by side with their grandchildren, to rebuild a vibrant nation that was destroyed by 50 years of war.
Having defeated all global & local odds, who dared to crash our will, determination & commitment for the independence of our homeland, Eritrea, WE CAN rebuild Eritrea on our own, again.
Yes my people, WE CAN DO IT ON OUR OWN.

  22. la Rivoluzione Fascista W L’Africa Italiana!!!
