How do I advertise a travel destination?

Hi! I would like to put ads online in order to advertise a country that I love and which I would want people to visit more. Is there a way to do this? I am not promoting a specific product or service, so it is difficult to consider google adwords or yahoo ads. . . since they seem to be centered around the concept of a landing page offering to sell something. What should I do?

If you want to promote a particular area, you should document that area and review its qualities. For example, a client of ours sells real estate in Charlotte, NC. They wanted to promote the city as much as possible.

We created a Charlotte relocation guide that informs visitors about the various areas and posts current events and news items about the city.

That site now ranks #1 for Charlotte relocation and the client gets about 2-3 requests a day for relocation packets.

I would start with setting up a website or blog about your country. Then maybe you can advertise on PPC and you’ll have a landing page.

Do you have a website or tourist information site about the destination you could promote?

What about setting up a facebook group? Promote it on trip advisor etc. ?
