Top 10 Kuching Travel Destinations You Must Not Miss
Trip to Kuching on your own is not as difficult as you think. Here I will list down the top 10 places or places you should not miss if you travel in Kuching. One. Weekend Market (aka Sunday market), local just call “Sunday Market”. It’s really more a Sunday market, since the beginning of operations Saturday afternoon around 14:00. The audience formed from 15 hours to count, 99% are local buyers and sellers, and you will be the remaining 1%. In this market over the weekend, you can see all kinds of people sell and buy feed there. The goods were traded from rags, home accessories and supplies, local produce, food, meat and vegetables, etc., etc.. Basically everything you can think of that found in Kuching, but certainly not good brand of course. This is the most traditional market you’ll ever find in Kuching, it says will never change because there are 20 years or more. You can easily hire a taxi to the hotel and do not cost more than RM15, unless you’re somewhere out of the city of Kuching. 2nd Sarawak Museum, you have no time to travel throughout Sarawak, visit the Sarawak Museum. Some passengers commented that only spend an hour in the Sarawak Museum is as good as going to Sarawak for a week. There are simply too many things to tell you in the Sarawak Museum. It is located in downtown and within walking distance of major hotels in Kuching, Merdeka Palace Hotel in particular. The best part is, Sarawak Museum admission is free and no ticket purchase required, nothing, so why not? 3rd Traditional Malay village across the Sarawak River Another highly recommended place to visit and the best part is, it will not cost you much to go, maybe around RM2 per person only for the transfer boat. The small boat (called Tambang) you transfer from Kuching Waterfront throughout Sarawak River is already half the fun. In the village itself, you will not see many tourists there and I must say that this is not a place for tourists, but an authentic Malay Village. Take a short walk around town, you will see that it is so different from downtown Kuching river front. Try their region “Kampung (village in Malay means) Malay food, cheap and delicious, but be careful, almost all of them are spicy, just in case you have a problem taking food spicy. Just my 2 cents, do not leave Kuching if you do not visit this village. 4th Shopping This commemorative Main Bazaar is one place where almost all travelers patronize and shop for souvenirs. There are many souvenir shops and collected. The price is very competitive, so be sure you will find a good agreement for your purchase of souvenirs. Main Bazaar is located next to Harbour View Hotel, and the shops are spread over approximately one kilometer long. Many interesting things are waiting to discover this part of the old shop lots. fifth Annah Rais LonghouseIf you really do not have the time and budget travel inland locations such as Iban longhouse Rejang River and Annah Rais Bidayuh longhouse is your best choice. This is a very real authentic Bidayuh longhouse is located only 90 km from Kuching city. It is visited by tourists during the day, and many say it has become a tourist attraction. But the local population is continuing their traditional way of life there, despite the many tourists who visit the longhouse everyday. Be sure that you will not see the local people who are trying to sell you feed play tourist. Even the cabin itself has been equipped with satellite TV antenna or the main structure longhouse is almost home. They work very hard to preserve the way it should be. If you prefer to stay back and Discover even the local way of life which can you choose to stay with one of the villagers who are there to host a program called Annah Rais Long adventure. 6th Semenggoh Orangutan Wildlife Centre This is one of the major “Must go” place among all the places in your travel Kuching scheme. You get to see orangutans-utan in the wild and not caged. They circulate freely in the surrounding jungle and displayed at headquarters in the park during the feeding period. Interestingly, they know better than the plan that you do. So do not forget to feeding time, 9 and 15 hours a day if you miss, you have to find them in the jungle beyond. Admission costs RM3 per person, a fraction of the cost compared to Sepilok Rehabilitation Centre Orangutan in Sabah that cost you RM30 per person and you get to see much the same thing, only with better facilities. 7th Sarawak Cultural Village VillageSarawak cultural, as the name suggests, is a village, which highlights all the ethnic culture of Sarawak. It was built primarily for tourists and it is not a real village, but they built the house in various ethnic models actual size of human. The best part is that they have used local people to stay in the village based on their traditional origin of life. When you enter the village and the houses you want to visit the families staying in this particular house. It’s like a living museum of truth. Highly recommended, you can find all kinds of many houses there and learn about tribes of Sarawak 8. Bako National Park can not stretch enough that it is the only place that will give you all happy when you are in the park. All transportation by boat alone is already a part of adventure travel, because you have the chance to see wild crocodiles when you’re on the boat, but it is not a guarantee of good observation. When Check the park, you will most likely be greeted by the long-tailed macaque and wild boar shaving. Wildlife is almost everywhere. It is also a good place for jungle trekking too. You’ll find plenty of trails some offer a good chance to see endangered species of flora and fauna, as a Proboscis Monkey. Opt for jungle trekking night as shunting can arrange for you and you will also see the different creatures of the night. N ‘Do not forget to bring insect repellent, a lot of mosquitoes in the park, but they are simply too wild! 9th FarmLots Jong Crocodile people like the idea that crocodiles are kept in large piece of land constituting around almost like a swamp, the alligator natural habitat. crocodiles are not in a cage, but you do! What a good idea. This is your crocodile farm visit, make you see thousands of crocodiles kept much as they are in nature. And entrance is only RM8 per personal, highly recommended! 10th Eatery Place Jalan Song (Must Go) Again I must mention, c This is another place not tourist driven, but it is very important for you to know that this is the place the most popular restaurant locals Kuching Kuching.
