  4. San Diego California. Being on the southern tip of California pretty much on the border of Mexico, I thought it would be a different world than it really is. I expected unforgiving heat. . . it turns out its almost perpetually 70 degrees and beautifully sunny. I expected Mexico’s influence to make it a city that was full of spanish culture and not much else. . . its actually really diverse in all areas. Downtown is clean and the buildings are beautiful. The palm trees are amazing. If you want to take a trip south of the border and do some partying in Mexico, its sooo close. There’s not only a lot of things to do indoors, but just driving around outside is a sight seer’s dream. There are zoo’s and aquariums. And to top it all off. . . if you happen to be there and want to see something else. . the ocean is right there and LA is only an hour or so drive away. Great place to go.

  5. Antarctica. Absolutely superb with beautiful stunning scenery, lots of whales, penguins, seals and bird life. . . and very few people.

    Libya is pretty close to the top of my list too, for its fantastically preserved archaelogical sites (and not too many tourists).

    Nothing against people – I just don’t like too many of them around when I’m on hols.
